Diane Aben
Pilates & Hypopressives Teacher

Years ago, I decided to try Pilates even though I was unsure what it was. Having practised many disciplines since childhood, I was not expecting to be challenged. How wrong was I! I soon fell in love with Pilates, with the way it slowly changed me, made me stronger and taller, and feel more comfortable in my own skin.

I began teaching Pilates in 2005 having qualified with Body Control Pilates at an advanced level with both matwork and apparatus. Since then, I have worked with physiotherapists and osteopaths, gaining an invaluable insight into the human body's biomechanics. My teaching allows me to work with people of all ages and levels of fitness and enables me to teach a wide range of professions from office-bound workers to performers and athletes.

After suffering from pelvic organ prolapse after the births of my two children, I trained with the International Hypopressives Council in using breathwork and movement to heal my symptoms – and I was so impressed that I wanted to help other women who had suffered like myself. Up to 50% of women will deal with some sort of pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime, and I am proud to give them a non-invasive alternative to (or support alongside) surgeries.

I am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and a supervising teacher for Body Control Pilates with matwork teacher training students. Having now created this inclusive community of Pilates lovers, where all bodies and abilities are welcome and looked after, we would love you to join us.
